IBM and Oracle Alliance for Open JDK

Fortunately IBM and Oracle have come together to advance the OpenJDK project aanouced on October 11 and  is good news for the future of Java technology.
IBM will work with Oracle and the Java community to make OpenJDK the primary high performance open source runtime for  Java language, JDK, and Java Runtime Environment.
Also, the JCP (Java Community Process) will continue to be the primary Both vendors plan to enhance the JCP Java Community Process.IBM will be shifting its development effort from the Apache Project Harmony to OpenJDK, Main purpose for Collaboration between the two vendors  will center on the Java language, JDK, and Java Runtime Environment.
